雷昂·梅萨杰 (1842–1901)： 爱神座钟

这件精美的路易十五式座钟出自雕刻师同时也是装饰师的雷昂梅萨杰之手。梅萨杰的创作生涯主要集中在十九世纪最后二十多年中。他的这件作品材质为青铜镀金，造型上采用了十八世纪风格。座钟有四只形状弯曲的脚，四只脚下面还有一个路易十五式的底盘。外表不对称的倒置贝壳装饰和卷曲叶饰是洛可可装饰特点的体现。这件作品中还有一些怪诞的鬼怪人物装饰。这种装饰我们在梅萨杰的其他作品中会经常看到。表盘周围有花环样式的装饰，上方我们能看到一个手持弓箭的爱神，背后背着他的箭袋。
